Cinque-Terre

Every time I mentioned to anyone that I was heading to Cinque Terre for my birthday weekend, I was always met with the same response “Beware the crowds”.

So off I went to the coast of Italy bracing myself to be crammed into tiny streets with a thousand other keen tourists.

But the crowds never came.

Instead, we had every street reserved for ourselves.
